Warehouse Supervisor – Afternoon

This is a Contract position in Ont, ON posted September 9, 2020.

The Opportunity: Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is adding a Warehouse Supervisor to their growing team in Mississauga.

This shift will run from 3pm to 11:15pm, Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Be Doing: Supervise a team of unionized warehouse employees, including delegation of tasks, training, coaching, and directing corrective action to resolve day-to-day operational issues Plans, communicates and executes daily shift work plan outlining work assignments based on daily priorities, equipment availability, and space utilization Continuously monitor the performance and activities of the warehouse through the use of KPIs with a primary focus on cost controls Communicates daily to Distribution Manager and Warehouse Manager on achievement of shift targets, shift issues and provides daily production reports Maintain accurate inventory counts and conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment Ensure all orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner including investigation of lost or damaged shipments Recommends improvements in work procedures to improve productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization Enforce policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment Apply, record and document discipline fairly and consistently as per CBA Works in cooperation with Human Resources on Labour Relations issues What You’ll Need to be Successful: Diploma, degree or post-secondary education or equivalent experience 5 years’ of work experience in a supervisory role in a unionized warehouse environment A proven leader with strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
