Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director – Public Credit, this position is primarily responsible for helping to build quantitative analysis tools. This analysis will help identify relative value opportunities across developed and emerging markets for both single name and structured credit.  The role will be integral in developing risk/P&L infrastructure and tracking portfolio exposures against various risk limits. Major areas of responsibilities include:

• Identifying and building alpha-generating investment opportunities across single name and structured credit products
• Assisting Portfolio Managers in the development, implementation and monitoring of existing portfolios across developed and emerging markets
• Constant optimization and re-engineering of desk processes and strategy tools to increase group efficiency
• Collaborating and liaising with strategy and business management departments within the wider Credit Investment group

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have a quantitative undergraduate or masters degree (i.e. Math, Engineering, Computer Science)
• Advanced computer and programming skills – especially with Python, SQL, VBA
• R Programming skills an asset but not required
• Demonstrated interest in investment management
• Experience with credit and/or fixed income products an asset but not required
• Strong financial modeling knowledge, mathematical background and analytical thinking
• Excellent academic performance
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a high performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines
• Proven ability to work independently as well as to  perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Candidates must exemplify CPP Investments guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance.
