PTAG: Project Management Manager


This is a Full-time position in Bowmanville, ON posted September 9, 2020.

PTAG is currently seeking a Project Management Manager who will provide supervision of Project Managers and support personnel who will manage projects in the following areas: Nuclear plant modifications, Nuclear infrastructure projects, such as building of nuclear waste storage facilities, Development and delivery of advanced inspection tools, Non-nuclear infrastructure projects such as building of office buildings, and general building improvements.

Location: Clarington, ON Type of Employment: Full Time Responsibilities: Supervise Project Managers Maintain and manage staff selection to manage a portfolio of projects Facilitate continuous improvement of work methods.

Make recommendations on appropriate strategies and improvements to the overall delivery of projects from the project team.

Be responsible for reviewing and validating forecasting accuracy from individual project managers and participate in monthly portfolio review cycles Provide oversight in ensuring schedule accuracy and reflecting milestone performance Ensure all projects in portfolio apply appropriate risk registry with proper rankings Provide appropriate escalations within management to resolving issues or minimizing risks Ensure participation of self and staff in appropriate training programs to maintain appropriate qualifications and staff development for the quality delivery of projects through lectures, field training, operating procedures to improve project delivery performance Support project managers in resolving issues associated with multidisciplinary project elements (this could include integration in areas of planning, finance, engineering, estimating, drafting, installation, quality control, radiation protection, safety, security, materials management, cost and schedule control, commissioning and documentation) Provide leadership in implementing project technical work/solutions, and initiate the acquisition of appropriate approvals, as required in support of the operation and maintenance of the facilities Keep abreast of new project delivery options and technological advancements in the field for potential incorporation in terms of department equipment or operation.

Keep abreast of maintenance and operating priorities, and take action to ensure projects are aligned to meet technical and business objectives Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance of all requirements in delivery Oversight and approval of specifications or scope of works for purchasing requisitions for material, services, and equipment Requirements: BSc/BA degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management) Five plus years of relevant job-related experience in project management in the Nuclear Power Industry with two years of experience in managing other project managers Thorough understanding of current project/program management techniques and methods Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles Have a good understanding of nuclear safety and have nuclear experience to be able to execute efficiently and effectively in the nuclear environment A good understanding of Nuclear Quality Management Requirements Excellent knowledge of MS Office; Working knowledge of program/project management software (P6, MS Project, Ecosys, Prism, Risky Project, SharePoint etc.) is a strong advantage Outstanding leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication skills Excellent problem-solving ability PTAG is growing and seeking professionals who want to join a fast paced, innovative, and team-oriented Program Management Firm.
