Production Director


This is a Contract position in North Bay, ON posted April 30, 2021.

A major company that manufactures and distributes wood products is looking for a plant manager.


JOB IDENTIFICATION Title of position: Plant director Level of position: Management Under the supervision of: General manager 2.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Reporting to the general manager, the production director is re sponsible for the proper functioning of the production plant.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The director ensures that all operations of the plant run smoothly and that the production objectives and quality standards are met and supervises all the plant personnel including the supervisors 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF TASKS 1) Prepare, analyze, manage operational needs in order to make strategic changes/recommendations in compliance with the objectives of the company.

2) Plansall plant operations: manufacturing, assembling, finishing, packaging, shipping and receiving.

3) Supervise the production team and manage human resources of the plant with the director of human Resources.

4) Optimize the production lines according to the goals to achieve and of the performance of equipment, tools and available personnel.

5) Evaluate the needs of machinery and maintenance.

6) Embody commitment of the quality of the company in the plant and as a member, actively participate in the factory commitee meetings.

7) Ensure the responsability of operations and activites regarding Health and safety in the work place.

8) Actively work at reducing the rate of work related accidents in the plant.

9) participate in the evaluation of the employees under your supervision once a year and do a report with the Human Resources department.

10) Maintain and develop good relationships with all the employees and business partners.

Your responsibilities are: Guide the supervisors in their daily tasks.

Able to manage operations of, manufacturing, assembling, finishing, packaging and shipping.

Be performant under pressure.

Oversee all the process of cabinet making and quality control.

Makes sure that all the deadlines are met.

Be comfortable with measurements Analyze the needs to make strategic changes when necessary.

Work actively to reduce work related accidents.

Participate in the annual evaluations and raises of employees in collaboration with Human Resources.

Maintain and develop good relations with all partners and business partners.

All other tasks related to the position.

Requirements and qualifications needed: Have 5 to 10 years experience as a plant manager ( in kitchens cabinets a must ) Must be fully bilingual, french/english Able to work under pressure Must be very organized Must be a great leader Computer skills Be manual Have good analytical skills Ability to delegate Professionnal and ethical behavior WORK CONDITIONS Permanent and full time position Schedule: Mondays
– thursdays, from, 7:30 to 4:45 Fridays, from, 7:30 to 12:20 complete insurance after 3 months probation Free parking and accessible by public transport
