The Janssen Portfolio Management & Strategy Deployment Lead (Senior Manager) is a pivotal role that will provide E2E visibility to the global portfolio of projects in Janssen Quality (JQ) in collaboration with cross functional project leaders; driving accountability on milestones, timelines and resources to achieve goals.  The Janssen Quality PMO & Strategy Deployment Lead will be responsible for establishing and leading PMO governance and oversight to drive successful execution of strategic projects and transformational initiatives across the Janssen Quality organization. 

 

The individual will develop the project portfolio framework and governance to ensure portfolio prioritization reviews, decision making, and alignment to the business planning cycles – Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) & Business Plans (BP). 

 

In addition, this individual partners closely with IT, JQ Strategy Leads, Project Managers, Finance, and JSC PMO to represent Quality in the Project Portfolio Lead meetings and with functional JQ project leaders to ensure management has a holistic view of the total Janssen Quality portfolio, budget and spend. The incumbent works closely with project managers to manage the lifecycle, provide expertise and consultation on all matters related to the execution of Janssen Quality Projects.  In addition, this individual will work with leaders to leverage data and insights to identify opportunities for optimization (CIPs) within Janssen Quality. 

 

•    Manage the strategic planning cycle with cross functional engagement and prioritization. Provide decision support, analysis, structured project portfolio reviews and implications (e.g., budget considerations, resource allocation, etc.). 
•    Conduct/lead benchmarking exercises in collaboration with the enterprise and external consultants.
•    Drive the implementation of all governance processes to manage the portfolio of strategic programs and projects, including prioritization, resource allocation, and measurement against segment Supply Chain goals to ensure that business commitments are achieved
•    Implement standard best practices for project management, measurement and prioritization
•    Provide direction on development and prioritization of strategic projects in alignment with partners, the BP and overall Q&C strategy.  Work with finance to assure appropriate evaluation for strategic projects
•    Establish program tracking and reporting, to ensure programs deliver their final project objectives, stay on track, financial commitments, benefits realization.
•    Implement an agile and efficient process to prioritize projects within the portfolio, and flow appropriate resources to ensure benefits are realized
•    Drive effective risk management and corrective action processes to minimize overall program risk and enhance benefits realization
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelors degree required; degree concentration in Computer Science, Business or Finance is preferred
•    Minimum 8 years of professional experience (e.g., Business, Quality, Project Management, Supply Chain and/or related experience) required. 
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
•    Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices required
•    Experience leading complex projects required
•    Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with attention to detail required
•    Financial Acumen required
•    Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to translate complex concepts for a variety of stakeholders required
•    Proven track record working in a global matrix environment preferred
•    Previous experience with budget and capacity planning preferred
•    Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills required
•    Strong planning and organizational skills with a good understanding of priority setting required
•    Ability to work independently but also in a team required
•    Stakeholder management and networking skills required
•    Approximately 20% global travel
