The PositionThis is an opportunity to manage a production and order-fulfillment ecosystem in a new facility for a global brand.

Norwood is looking for a resourceful individual who enjoys optimizing systems and processes to generate cost efficiencies in a packaging, warehousing and distribution environment.Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager will oversee the daily activities at the order fulfillment packaging facility including receiving, parts inspection, inventory storage, pick & pack box filling, parts& components sub-assembly(manufacturing is outsourced),warehousing and shipments to customers and dealers.

You will work with your team to implement procedures to maximize safety, ensure quality, improve efficiency, increase productivity and confirm timely order fulfillment while keeping inventory carrying-costs and production/shipment costs to a minimum.

Responsibilities
·Manage the day-to-day order-fulfillment packaging operation
·Oversee and organize the equipment, staff, and processes on the warehouse floor
·Ensure timely order fulfillment while minimizing inventory-carrying, production and shipment costs
·Communication and on-going reinforcement of key performance indicators.

·Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to production team members.

·Plan overall production needs for best possible utilization of warehouse space, resources and staff with the objective of attaining optimum operating efficiencies.

Determine the best KPIs for measuring operational health and develop and manage dashboards for the business.

·Monitor and/or control quality and production levels.
·Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work processes risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices.

Support strategic and operational planning on the warehousing and fulfillment function.

Drive efficiencies across the warehousing and fulfillment function through root cause analysis, project leadership, training, and coaching team members.

Train team members on Lean principles and other CI tools.

Process measurement, documentation, analysis, and improvement.

Lead and manage CI projects that deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
·Increase production capacity, flexibility and quality standards
·Recruit, manage, engage and build relationships with warehouse staff
·Create accountability and performance target frameworks
·Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities to reduce waste and increase efficiencies
·Implement and commit to warehouse safety proceduresQualifications
·Post secondary degree or diploma (Engineering, Operations Management or Logistics)
·5+ years as a Production Manager managing a team and being accountable for results
·Familiarity with packaging and warehousing equipment and order fulfillment systems
·Expereince in a high volume fulfillment center preferred
·Knowledge of warehouse equipment
·Experience with production lines that package parts or assemble components and machinery
·Strong team-building and people-management skills
·Able to design and source warehouse storage systems or packaging and assembly lines
·Experience implementing LEAN production systems
·Able to read mechanical drawings and check parts against drawings
·Able to find efficiencies and develop strategies to realize them
·Knowledgeable about safety, quality, productivity and inventory stewardship processes
·Established track record of reliability
·Excellent organizational skills
·Comfortable with computers and software systems
