Job DescriptionTransitNEXT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin.

SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that TransitNEXT, has reached financial close on the Trillium Line Extension project.

As the sole proponent in the TransitNEXT team, SNC-Lavalin will design, build, finance and maintain the new extension, and will also assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of the existing Trillium Line.Join TransitNEXT and become part of The Trillium Line Extension project, expanding and enhancing transit services in Ottawa.As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are looking for a junior project controls specialist.

The position reports to Project Controls Manager and will assist the project in day to day tasks related to project controls.

Responsibilities: Support Cost and planning teams in day to day activities Produce periodical progress, Earned Value and KPI reports and recommend corrective actions under the supervision of senior staff Coordinate and execute cost engineering activities, Develop, maintain and update project’s budgets, capture actual costs and produce cost forecasts Assist with change management system Gather information for cost trending and project performance review meetings Provide budgetary information to project team members Qualifications: Engineering degree in related fields, preferably civil engineering 0-5 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors: heavy civil works, rail and transit, roads and bridges, Experience in large projects (> $500M), preferably in PPP, EPC or Design & Build type projects Knowledge of Earned Value Management Strong knowledge of MS Office and Cost Management Systems (JD Edwards, Oracle) Experience with top tier construction / engineering companies Planning and organizational skills, adept to working under pressure and stretch assignments Sound communication skills, fluency in English a must, French and Spanish advantage Membership in AACEI, CCP certification an advantageWe offer an opportunity to work on varied and interesting projects in Canada and around the world.
