Job Description
Respiratory Therapist Aide:
Temporary Unscheduled Part Time – 3 Month Contract
Role is Primarily Technical
• Equipment stock checks
• Equipment in room checks
• Cleaning re-circuiting and testing ventilators
• Cold runner for RT related equipment during/post intubation/respiratory care
• Extra eyes for doffing/donning.
• Extra hands for repositioning/proning.
• Extra hands/eyes for RRT during respiratory care.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Respiratory therapy students who have completed the first year of their program
• Pre-clinical students preferred
• Current BCLS Certification required
• Knowledge of ACLS and NRP algorithms an asset
• Current mask fit test an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of patient populations
• Proficient computer experience and excellent keyboarding skills is preferred
• Working knowledge of routine practices related to Infection Control required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ongoing commitment to continuous learning
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proven dedication to an interdisciplinary team approach
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be flexible
• Demonstrated adherence to attendance policies is required
