Job SummarySince it’s founding Neuhaus has a successful track record, from site acquisition and land development all the way through to construction and delivery of the end units.

We are nimble team of 7 people providing Greater Toronto Area land/development sites to other builders as well as building key sites ourselves.

We also provide third party development and construction management services to high net worth clients.

Our unique business model exposes our team members to every aspect of the residential development and construction industry.

You would be a valuable part of our team that takes an initial idea for a parcel of land all the way through to becoming a living community.

Responsibilities and DutiesBe involved during the research into potential land purchases, due diligence, zoning, site-plan and permit applications, as well as meeting all other regulatory requirements and processing paperwork associated with construction of low or mixed use sites.Work with consultants with respect to zoning and site planning such as environmental, geotechnical, noise, traffic etcHave a good knowledge of the planning process and understanding of the dynamics of local municipal politics of the GTA.Strong residential experience in low rise developments.Assist in the preparation of documentation and other materials for public presentations.Represent the firm in writing and personally in meetings.Attend City Council MeetingsAssume responsibility for the efficient management of the overall planning process.Work with the Design and Engineering, and Construction contractors as needed during later parts of a project.LearningYou will be working with and reporting directly to the CEO and will be immersed in an entrepreneurial environment.You will be exposed to a very broad range of activities and are going to gain a great deal of experience in a relatively short period of timeYou will drive your own learning, keep up with developments in the industry and the firm.We prefer face-to-face communication and consider it very important, and we expect all of our people to work together for the greater good of the company.ApproachThe pace is fast and projects can bring all sorts of novel challenges; you will have demonstrated that you can thrive in this type of environment, you can think clearly and holistically under pressure.We are not looking for someone to simply fulfill an opening; we need you to contribute to the drive for excellence in both yourself and the company.Qualifications and SkillsEducation in urban planning – with a desire to pursue that as a career3+ years of relevant post-education experience (internal knowledge of City planning would be ideal)A valid driver’s license is required, as some travel to project related meetings and construction sites can be expected.Strong English communication skills (written, verbal and presentation); clarity and unambiguityin all we do is essential.Experience with residential construction projects.CompensationNeuhaus will offer a strong compensation package depending on experience.
