Job Summary:The Plant Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design,construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in industrial plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Planing, coordination and implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance for theproduction line and building components.Procurement of spare parts, and consumibles as well as small tool management.Development, implementation, construction and installation of new manufacturing processesand equipment.Improve the efficiency of existing manufacturing processes using engineering methods andsolutions.Develop and update process controls documentation for new and existing equipment andsystems.Coordinate with plant manager to ensure work, food safety and building code standards aremet, including HACCAP, SQF and environmental.Develop and implement new product recipes, including packaging and labeling.Coordination, planing and budgeting of existing and new projects.Skills and Competence:Must know MS Office suite including project management.Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks andmaintaining work area in a sanitary manner.Plant Manager is trained in daily activities of the Associate Engineer job description and able toperform coverage in this position as needed.Design of new processes.Coordination of installation and procurement of new machinery.Oversee permits for operation: TSSA, CSAFollow environmental regulations (coordinate with inspections, etc..).Hands on mechanical, electrical, combustion systems and electronic, PLC instrumentation.Welding (TIG and MIG) and metal forming experience required.Education and Experience:Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.5+ years’ experience in a high volume manufacturing plant, preferably food or beverage.Engineering responsibility in a 7X24 operation, including experience with a PM software.Capital budgeting and planning experience.Must have managed other engineering functions such as project, process, and packaging in ateam environment.2 years in hands on experience in mechanical, electrical and control systems.2 years metal welding (TIG and MIG) and forming.
