Today, Intellijoint technology lives in the operating room helping surgeons improve implant positioning during hip and knee replacement surgeries.

Our technology has been used in over 15,000 surgeries helping us to gain real-world feedback from patients and surgeons to improve our products.

We are looking for Product Development Engineer to join our extra-operative team to help us take our innovative technology outside of the operating room!

The PositionAs a Product Development Engineer, you will be a key contributor to a product development team through systems engineering, project management, technical documentation and product ownership.

You are the glue ensuring the daily and weekly aspects of product development projects are on track in terms of schedule and clinical impact.

In this role, you will enjoy a breadth of technical challenges, and opportunities to work closely with people.

Main Duties:Contribute to technical development projects from start to finish, including design updates, new product development, NPI and sustaining product development Proactive participation within the project teamEnsure compliance with quality systems, SOP’s, including authoring and reviewing technical documentation Resolve issues to ensure other members of the engineering team are not blockedIdentify and manage project risks throughout product development process (design, production and field deployment)Perform system and test engineering functions Maintain connectedness to the field and customer needsContribute design ideas; actively participate inprototype creation; be hands-onDesire to continuously develop project leadership and systems engineering skillsInfluence design decisions, working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders Analyze product feature decisions based on trade-offs between various considerations (project, technical, regulatory, etc.)Ensure designs are correctly transferred to production Support project planning activitiesCommunicate project plans and/or status with R& D leadershipSkills and Experience to Enable Success:Degree in Engineering or equivalent Systems engineering, systems thinkingProject managementTechnical communicationAbility to switch contexts based on project phases (e.G., creativity in the front end of a project, focused execution in the back end of a project)Effective within product development process (regulated industry experience, especially medical)Work effectively with product management Comfortable in a rapidly scaling work environment Has a passion for medical devices and life-enhancing innovation Believes no job is too big or too smallPractical, hands-on experience and detail-orientedFoster a collaborative, respectful and fun environment with project team Exude excellent communication, both written and oral Contribute as a strong team player, strong leadership skills Experience developing complex systems that includes software and hardware Driven to see projects through to realizationCustomer-centricDriven to enhance your career in medical devices All experience levels are encouraged to apply Relevant Technical Disciplines:Mechanical Design/ ProductionMachining of metals and plastics Surgical instrumentationSoftware application developmentUser Interfaces and usability engineering Algorithms and opticsExpectations and Employee ExperienceIt is unrealistic for us to believe we will find someone who fits this position 100%.Be ready to be innovative!Be passionate about growth, personally and professionally and know that we will support you along the way.Work hard each and every day but know that you will be rewarded for your hard work.Be ok with change, this will happen as we scale but this should be seen as exciting and something you want.Flexibility so that you can do your best both at work and outside of it.Intellijoint Surgical is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive work environment.
