Marketing Manager, Emerging Technologies (downtown Toronto)

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted September 29, 2020.

Position Description:

The Marketing Manager – Emerging Technologies (ET) is a new role within the CGI’s Canadian Marketing team. The focus of the incumbent will be to help drive CGI’s organic growth in emerging technologies such as Cloud, Data & Analytics, and Cybersecurity.

In this high visibility role, you will create a lasting mindshare and positioning with clients while enabling the business development community to better leverage CGI’s best ‘assets’ to bid more and win more.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Position CGI in Canada, working with the business units and global emerging technologies group
• Refine vision, overall story and go-to-market strategies aligned with market needs, competitive environment and CGI global and Canadian priorities
• Identify and link the above to CGI’s strongest and most pertinent value propositions and best assets to ensure we can turn initial client conversations into 2nd meetings, proposals, bookings and business growth
• Enable sales through the development and execution of marketing programs with tailored marketing mix that marry ’pull’ and ‘push’ tactics
• Work closely with the External Communications Team to develop and execute effective external MarCom plans that built our brand and differentiates CGI from competitors to attract clients
• Partner with the Internal Communications Team to develop and execute efficient internal MarCom plans that raise business developer community awareness and understanding of CGI’s abilities to address our clients challenges and needs, and that drive consistency in our messaging to market
• Collaborate with industry marketing leads to bring in the industry context
• Continuously scan the market – clients and competitors – and derive implications for CGI’s business

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing function, preferably within a technology services, technology product or a consulting services organization
• Demonstrated experience in using marketing to bring new services / products to market and drive pipeline and sales growth
• Hands-on understanding of enterprise technology adoption cycles and messaging to align with buyers’ journey
• A strong record of getting-things-done and ability to manage numerous concurrent initiatives in a highly dynamic environment, often with short deadlines
• A go-getter attitude and a constant look to keep moving when things are stalled
• Ability to work in a virtual team
• Excellent command of PPT (and other media software)
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
