Department Overview

The Marketing group encompasses end to end marketing strategies from creation to execution to performance tracking. This department is responsible for partnering with business units/channels and Marketing experts across the organization to create and execute world class marketing strategies, plans and campaigns that drive shareholder value and increase customer loyalty. As key business partners, marketers act as consultants to the businesses on all aspects of marketing, influencing the business strategy, as well as ensuring that the TD brand is protected and delivered with the best customer experience. This is achieved via the creation of consumer insights, monitoring trends, building marketing strategies/plans, developing/executing integrated marketing campaigns, campaign management, agency management, management of the marketing budget and measuring/optimizing results. As well as the management of tactics and channels including but not limited to: Email, Direct Mail, Advice Prompts (EasyWeb/Mobile/Branch/Phone), Onsite Banners, Onsite, Statement Messages/Inserts, OBTM, TV, Radio, Print, OLV, Display/Social, SEM, website content, experiential (XM). Additionally, Marketing utilizes owned channels within branch, contact centre, ATM, mobile, public and secure site as well as paid channels.

Job Description

The Manager, Marketing TD Ready Advice position works on the Customer Strategy team and reports to the Senior Group Marketing Manager, TD Ready Advice. The Customer Strategy team within Marketing acts as a leader within the organization to drive customer centric programs and initiatives across all business for TD.

The successful candidate will act as a Marketing lead to the business and channel on all aspects of TD Ready Advice marketing. Specifically, this individual will lead the 1:1 marketing strategy and development of the TDRA Growth audience strategy including development of advice journeys for advice subsegments, measurement and reporting. Additionally, the role will support the Sr. Group Marketing Manager with the development of Executive stakeholder communications as required.

The incumbent must be a self-starter who possesses the highest level of integrity and discretion, has experience working with all levels of stakeholders, including strong agency management, and exhibits strong communication skills. This role requires strong storytelling and facilitation skills, exceptional relationship building skills and demonstrated problem solving and influencing capabilities.
 
Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with MA&I and Business partners in the development and roll out of the growth audiences
  • Develop, lead and execute the TD Ready Advice growth audience strategy including leveraging key consumer insights related to Advice, and emerging segment personas to execute communication plan optimizations
  • Gather, integrate and interpret existing views of the target audience and/or customer, including demographic, attitudinal, and behavioral data to create kick offs and briefs
  • Manage all budget and agency relationships as it relates to 1:1 growth segment strategies
  • Developing & maintain a One TD content calendar and work with stakeholders across the enterprise to align 1:1 programs and ensuring a ONE TD approach and sharing of content where applicable.
  • Support as required the development and reporting of 1:1 creative and tactics

Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 7+ years’ work experience
  • Experience collaborating across Marketing and different LOBs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • PowerPoint/Graphic Design Experience is a major asset
  • Familiarity of how to leverage data to inform content strategies
  • Experience engaging in agency and vendor relationships.
  • Prioritize and manage own workload to meet timelines and maintain productivity.
  • Excellent judgment, relationship management, and impact and influence capability, with a demonstrated ability to get along with people across the organization and external parties at all levels
  • High degree of organizational awareness; understanding of where to engage to efficiently manage issues – Understands and demonstrates TD Shared Commitments.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Deliver and monitor results; ensure stated objectives are delivered on plan (monitor/ early indicators) and where required, take corrective actions to achieve targets
  • Analyze past results and makes recommendations to maximize return on investment
  • Evaluate effectiveness of in market activity – Post Implementation Review (including recommendations)
  • Understand and Utilize the best practices of OMLC (stage gate process) to manage projects in the most effective way (on time, on target, on budget) from initiation to completion
  • Navigate through roadblocks by engaging key stakeholders/sponsors
  • Provide ongoing communication to ensure appropriate stakeholders are notified of progress or changes in program content

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

  • Post -Secondary education; Marketing focus would be an asset
