Production Material Handler- Afternoons

Magna International

This is a Contract position in Concord, ON posted September 11, 2020.

RESPONSIBILITIES/EFFORTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Completes pre-inspection reports of lift truck on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that bins/boxes of goods, parts, components, scrap, metal rolls and other goods are in the proper location at proper time.
  • Ensures scrap and parts bins are always available at each work station.  Follows instructions of Production Supervisor and/or Senior Shipper.
  • Loads raw material onto presses as required in a timely manner to minimize machine down time.
  • Keeps lift truck maintained, fuelled and/or charged and in a safe working condition according to specified instructions.
  • Keeps in process materials and raw materials properly organized and easily accessible in designated area.
  • Verifies counts and part identification of parts in storage containers at the time of removal from the work station.  Keeps record of the same, gives information to Production Supervisor at the end of each shift.
  • Always operates lift truck according to safety procedures.  Keeps working area in a clean, tidy and safe manner at all times.  Co-operates with Safety Committee and adheres to all plant safety and housekeeping rules and policies.  Wears all personal protective equipment as required.
  • Perform work in other areas of production as necessary.
  • Comply with Section 28 of the OHSA.
  • Any other reasonable request made by Management.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Rollstamp Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.
  • Any other reasonable request made by Management.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Grade 10 level education or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of English, verbal and written
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Minimum 6 months’ related experience
  • Ability to operate fork lift in a safe manner   
  • Fork Lift Driver Certificate
