About the role

The Solutions Development Manager (SDM) is responsible for the development and management of key workplace solutions associated with our high growth lines of business (PPE). You will possess and continue to build on a high level of category expertise and engage with vendors/internal teams to achieve established growth targets / customer penetration rates.  In this role, you will partner with customer marketing to develop powerful campaigns and selling enablement tools, including development of target customer profiles, decision maker/influencer attributes, and solution messaging.

What will I do?

  • Build knowledge and subject matter expertise in assigned solutions. Select the right combination of vendors / supporting products to deliver solutions to key target customer verticals, including Healthcare, Education, manufacturing
  • Partner with customer marketing to support development of solutions-based campaigns, including customer messaging, target audience and customer buying motives.
  • Align vendors / training content to drive sales enablement, ensuring both specialist and general line selling teams are armed with the appropriate level of technical / strategic selling knowledge to drive effective conversations with target customer audience.
  • Create strong, collaborative vendor partnerships ensuring Grand & Toy’s placement of a key solutions channel.  Align leadership discussions between G&T / vendor organization where required to support G&T’s position / agenda in the market.
  • Work with group operations manager to develop target customer lists and derive business insights that will allow us to accelerate or performance
  • Engage with digital merchandising team to ensure that solution based programs manifest appropriately on the G&T.com and accurately speak to our full capabilities around a solution.  Ensure that any transactional components are appropriately merchandised for self-serve customer shopping.
  • Measure, monitor key solution performance and make required adjustment to strategy to ensure performance to growth targets. Benchmark strategies and performance against market performers.
  • Effectively communicate solution development plans to leaders across the organization.  Gain buy-in from other functional teams, including Supply Chain, Inventory Management and General Selling.

 

What qualifications do I need?

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Marketing or related
  • 5+ years of experience in Merchandising, Product Management, or Products/Services Marketing
  • Experience managing PPE product line and vendor relationships     
  • Strong analytical skills – Ability to analyze data and deliver actionable insights
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in developing merchandising programs and developing full solutions in a B2B environment
  • Ability to juggle numerous priorities in a fast-paced working environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and with video conferencing tools (MS Teams)
  • Ability to foster relationships with various stakeholders to develop merchandising direction
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize and deliver on time in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to drive processes and ensure teams deliver on commitment dates
  • Bilingualism an asset (English/French)
