Some of what you will do

As the Manager, Visual Merchandising and Signage Development, you will oversee in-store visual and signage elements from conceptual to execution while working closely with marketing channel partners, planning, operations, construction and merchants. You will be responsible to provide leadership on all in-store signage including the creation, production and communication to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of the Staples Brand. Each day will be fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of visual merchandising and signage management processes, systems and tools.

  • Recommend and develop new ideas and concepts with merchandising teams for product presentation. Lead change and adapt to evolving customer needs and the connected customer experience.

  • Work with vendors and internal teams to develop effective seasonal campaigns, displays and planograms, that support strong consideration to the Staples Working and Learning company brand, as well as customer shopping experience.

  • Work in partnership with Merchandising and the Merchandise planning team on seeking trends and insights about their categories and assortments, driving a differentiated presence for Staples.

  • Develop and Implement consistent standards for compelling floor features and presentations.

  • Participate in planogram development process and provide merchandising and signage solutions where necessary.

  • Partner with merchandising, marketing and vendors to develop, implement and maintain customer-oriented POP within store locations ensuring a single voice to the retail customer.

Some of what you need

  • 5-8 years of related experience with strong design background including concept development and production.

  • Post secondary degree/diploma with a focus on retail management and visual merchandising.

  • Must have the ability to work with Creative Suite Design Programs.

  • Proven ability to take projects from concept to execution.

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Experience managing and partnering with various departments.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Passion for retailing and entrepreneurial work environment.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Visual talent, an eye for and a keen, innate understanding of brand, product, lifestyle and consumer.

  • A strong understanding of business needs and trends along with a track record of successfully managing a budget and adhering to financial guidelines.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, influencing and negotiating skills

  • Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to develop working knowledge of brand identity and aesthetics, with an attention to detail

Additional Information

  • Location: Richmond Hill

  • This role will be performed primarily at our office location in Richmond Hill with some flexibility to be remote. The right mix of office and remote work will be determined in discussion with the hiring manager.
