UI/UX Designer

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted September 25, 2020.

Position Description:

CGI’s Financial Services Division is looking for a proven UI/UX Designer to join us in supporting the development efforts within a major bank. Your positive attitude and enthusiasm along with you UX Design skills will be a great fit as you handle the UX for front end applications used by external customers.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct user research by employing methods and tools to provide actionable insights such as defining personas, conducting user and stakeholder interviews and contextual inquiries, mapping out user journeys, running UX workshops, performing usability tests, etc.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and developers to understand business and functional requirements, as well as technical considerations.
• Manage and own the creation of consistent experiences through user-centered design processes including heuristic evaluations, sitemaps, process flows, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure the design quality is maintained down the stream.
• Present and review designs with developers and key stakeholders.
• Conduct and/or coordinate design walkthroughs, feedback sessions and usability testing to validate proposed design solutions with stakeholders.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Understanding of banking applications, both internal and customer facing
• Best practices of banking UX/UI
• Responsive design: mobile, desktop
• Work on multiple projects across different tech labs
• Comfortable building clickable prototypes, wireframes
• Experience with Journey mapping
• Experience building or editing forms in Acrobat
• Work in agile environment, familiar with agile ceremonies, design sprints, etc
• Familiar with JIRA
• Work closely with development teams, product owners, business teams
• Confident presenting and explaining designs to business teams
• Independent worker, comfortable asking questions, no hand holding
• Familiar with minimum level 2 WCAG (accessible design rules)
• Comfortable working with templates and brand guidelines
Program Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Sketch
• Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
• Invision for prototyping
• Zeplin (nice to have)
