Temporary Assoc Technical Writer

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted September 9, 2020.

Technical Writer Position Overview The Technical Writer is responsible for creating technical content (design guides, troubleshooting guides, evaluation guides, application notes, technical white papers, presentations, videos) to improve the customer experience and assist with providing self-service content.

Responsibilities Create design guides, troubleshooting guides, evaluation guides, application notes, technical white papers, presentations, videos and demonstrations for Entrust Certificate Products and Services.

Build and maintain a demonstration environment for our security Entrust Certificate Products and Services.

Support sales and marketing efforts as required.

Some travel required to support field and marketing activity.

Support product launch activities and assist with Tradeshows, Conferences and Technical Sales Training or Channel Partner Training activities.

Respond to customer or field inquiries, assist with Technical RFPs and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, TSC’s, as required.

Work with the Competitive Team for market and competitive analysis.

Review customer cases to identify common issues and submit feature requests to the product management team or create self-service content to mitigate the found issues Manage and maintain the knowledge base for Entrust Certificate Services Basic Qualifications University degree, College Diploma, and/or relevant background in a technical field Working knowledge of the Microsoft and/or Linux based operating systems.

Knowledge of web servers (e.g., IIS, Apache), application servers (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat), networking (TCP/IP, routers, firewalls, load balancers).

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Excellent English language communication skills, speaking, listening, writing, and reading.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Entrust products, PKI, authentication, single sign-on, identity management, fraud detection or access control products.

Experience with virtualization software knowledge, such as, VMWare ESX server.

Experience with Salesforce, RemedyForce or other CRM (Customer relationship management) an asset.

Proficiency in other languages will be a strong asset.

Knowledge of ITIL methodology and implementation.

Knowledge of programming languages an asset.
