Senior ServiceNow Developer


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 28, 2021.

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Service Now Developer will be working to automates IT control testing in ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) module and support small to large ServiceNow IRM development and maintenance projects, including provide input for high level and detailed technical specifications related to small/medium projects.


What will you do?


  • Configure control testing, logic development (server JavaScripting) and workflow design in ServiceNow, IRM, including implementation of best practice solutions to support RBC IT Control Assurance
  • Configure on-going development and maintenance of the Integrated Risk Management modules on ServiceNow
  • Constantly seek better ways to automate processes using new tools and new technologies
  • You will be an active contributor to not only the team, but to the RBC development community
  • Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interface with other systems, internal and external checks, controls and outputs
  • Configure ServiceNow system including creating workflows, UI design, ACL and business rules
  • Create and maintain integrations with other internal and external systems and solutions, including manipulate and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems

What do you need to succeed?



  • In-depth technical understanding in a variety of hardware and software platforms, including JavaScripting development skills
  • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator certification
  • Demonstrated passion for simplifying and automating work, making things better, continuous learning, solving open-ended problems, improving efficiency and helping others
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python)
  • Demonstrated experience with IT development, support and implementation, including ITSM processes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field/equivalent work experience
