The Opportunity
Canada’s largest food retailer and top 100 employer (https://reviews.canadastop100.com/top-employer-loblaws) is looking for senior product analysts to join their team to help lead the digital modernization of Supply Chain Product family applications. Supply chain is central to retail operations and will have a high impact across the organization.
As part of a very supportive and collaborative team, you will be accelerated and upskilled through pairing and in-depth training on cloud platforms (Azure, GCP and OpenShift), with a focus on continuous delivery with a DevOps approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of the system landscape, business processes, design, and be able to articulate risks and impacts of new product features
  • You will work collaboratively to drive delivery work using an agile framework
  • Lead design sessions and communicate effectively across teams and to leadership
  • Work closely with the Solution Architect and be accountable for designing component and code level design within the 4 walls of the application
  • Understand business functions and user stories and decomposes them into technical specifications, and develops working Microservices code for a multi-cloud environment.
  • Create user stories, test case/test scripts, and acceptance criteria
  • Help manage, support, and prioritize Product team’s backlog
  • Develop automated tests to validate newly added functionality on Continuous Integration servers
  • Support the operations team as needed for incident management
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on production environments and provide resolutions for defects or performance issues promptly
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and innovation ability in software development and maintenance tasks

Must-haves:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Hands on development skills in Java, Python
  • Strong testing framework experience, scripts automation (J-Unit, Worksoft / robot, Python, automated testing and performance testing)
  • Relational database experience (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git)
  • Using version control with GIT (both local and using cloud-based platforms like Bitbucket).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular, along with fundamentals of HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3
  • An understanding of design and development on distributed systems operating at scale
  • An understanding of Microservices, containerization and scalability
  • An understanding of API creation and RESTful services with API Gateways
  • Experience in agile teams with daily stand-ups and a high degree of personal accountability
  • Knowledge of Modern DevOps principles and exposure to Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Experience with PaaS solutions such as OpenShift
  • Experience in Retail environment or Supply Chain operations
