As a Technology Business Partner (TBP), you are the main Technology Solutions (TS) point of contact. You are accountable for the oversight, planning, intake and analysis of requests requiring TS support. By working closely with your business partners, you will engage TS partners to shape a technical solution and business case that addresses business needs. As the business champion, you will ensure requests are completed per business priority. At the same time, you will advocate for TS by ensuring technology processes and standards are followed. As an influencer within Technology Solutions and the business, you will frame and oversee TS projects in the business portfolio to ensure successful delivery and alignment with both business and technical objectives.

What can you expect in this role?

  • As a valued leader, you engage both business and TS stakeholders to plan, identify and evaluate the feasibility and business value of strategic initiatives. Your demonstrated critical thinking and analysis skills help lead both business and IT teams thru ambiguity and shape solutions for business case consideration. This includes identifying options, estimating costs, benefit and risk analysis along with assessing different execution and resourcing approaches to expedite delivery.
  • As a strategic planner, you regularly work with senior leaders to align project priorities to strategic business goals and technology roadmaps. You will facilitate the annual enterprise portfolio planning with senior business leaders.
  • As a portfolio manager, you proactively manage, communicate and oversee delivery of TS projects from intake, planning, and execution.
  • As a trusted partner, you work closely with business and technology leaders to ensure both business and technical needs are understood and accommodated.  You have a reputation for delivering on commitments; you are results-oriented and have a track record for driving action without creating collateral damage or breaking processes.
  • As a relationship manager, you establish and maintain effective working relationships between business and TS teams, founded on respect, continuous collaboration and open communication. You are customer driven without compromising technical integrity.
  • As an expert influencer across multiple levels of the organization, you have demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to facilitate decisions and manage expectations across multiple stakeholders. You can confidently manage disagreement.
  • As a strong communicator, you can deliver difficult messages that are positively received and result in constructive outcomes.  Whether it’s a presentation, email or meeting, your communications are effective, clear and concise to drive decisions and action. You know how to translate the business value of a TS solution in a meaningful way to a non-technical audience.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Degree in business, computer science or a related discipline is preferred
  • 7+ years of project experience using different delivery methodologies in IT and/or business – in particular, scaled agile practices; 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience in establishing, defining and planning data platform and analytics projects
  • Practical understanding in Big Data concepts (ETL, data quality & governance, analytics, visualization, DW)
  • Experience in delivering IT solutions in insurance or banking industries
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to multi-task and effectively manage competing and changing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix or shared services organization
  • Relevant industry-related certifications e.g: PMP, Six Sigma, CSM, SAFe
  • Practical knowledge of project management techniques, tools, methodologies
