Associate Partner, Talent and Transformation

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Global Services is the largest business services and technology provider in the world and the fastest growing business division of IBM with more than 190,000 employees serving clients in over 160 countries. Global Business Services (GBS) is the professional services arm and encompasses management consulting, systems integration and robotic process automation. Our Cognitive Process Transformation team integrates IBM’s Finance, Procurement and Talent & Transformation consulting capabilities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Associate Partner, Talent & Transformation. We wish to add senior talent to our Cognitive Process Transformation team to help drive our market growth and shape new solutions which deliver end-to-end transformation for our clients. We advise clients on HR strategy and implementation of innovative and transformational solutions that enable our clients to reimagine employee experience, leverage AI and move to the cloud.

The Talent & Transformation team helps clients to integrate human and AI capabilities to drive optimal organizational performance by modernizing their HR function to improve the employees experience and optimize costs by aligning HR technology strategy with HR service delivery models to deliver efficiencies.

As an Associate Partner in this position, will:

  • Have proven experience and knowledge in the area of Talent and Change Services including HR transformation, HR cloud implementation, talent development, learning, organizational change, HR outsourcing, intelligent workflows and dynamic operating models;
  • Fully appreciate and commit to ensuring the successful delivery of consulting services, leading to high client satisfaction;
  • Have advisory oversight of complex services engagements;
  • Demonstrate an expert understanding of the appropriate methods and skills to be used to lead complex engagements;
  • Contribute to the growth of intellectual capital within the practice area and support the development of other consultants through participation in mentoring or coaching activities;
  • Establish trusted long-term relationships with clients through engagement activities while developing strong and trusted relationships with other team members on services engagements.


This position is client-facing and you will:

  • Identify, qualify, assist, and manage the closing of new business opportunities and be accountable for managing the financial success of that business;
  • Be accountable for the financial success and client satisfaction of engagements under your direction;
  • Understand the interaction of business requirements to underlying technological solutions and be able to identify ‘starburst’ business opportunities;
  • Articulate industry leading solutions and bring in the right resources to the client at the right time and achieve quick responses to client demands;
  • Define criteria for the scope, risk and profitability of engagements, as well as the viability of entering new marketplaces and geographies;
  • Significantly influence client satisfaction with IBM through knowledge of industry, ability to articulate solution value, and services delivery;
  • Participate in ongoing billable client activities when not participating in new business development or bid and proposal activity;
  • Be expected to generate new sales typically in the range of $5M to 10M US annually.

Candidate must have the ability to work in Canada without a current or future need for visa sponsorship. However, all candidates must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demand. Travel requirements may vary but could be up to 80%. Candidates are not able to refuse project based on travel.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 10 plus years consulting experience with increasing management responsibilities;
  • Strong financial services knowledge (banking and insurance);
  • Proven end to end sales cycle success;
  • Proven track record in developing strong client relationships with a particular focus at the executive levels;
  • Proven track record in delivering successful projects, notably complex cultural problems, HR Reinvention and change challenges (changes associated with large scale, complex transformations including ERP implementations, implementation of new operating models and business process outsourcing;
  • Strong communication skills including extensive experience dealing at the executive level;
  • Demonstrated people management at all levels;
  • Demonstrated project management & project governance ability;
  • Demonstrated business acumen including negotiation skills & contact/profit management;
  • Leadership skills and ability to multitask within a fast paced & dynamic workplace.
