Human Resources Business Partner-Ontario

Midland Transport Limited has become a leader in the transportation industry by providing superior quality service to our customers. Our services include LTL, T/L, Courier Services, and Third-Party Logistics/ Brokerage which provide the convenience of one-stop shipping.

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based out of Brampton, Ontario, supporting our Ontario region. The HRBP will report into the Regional Human Resources Manager, Ontario. The selected candidate will

be responsible for full-cycle recruitment, employee onboarding, relations, engagement, performance management, disability management, health and wellness, training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support to the HR Manager and the business in a multi-site operation across the Province of Ontario.

  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment activities including but not limited to creating & posting job postings, pre-screening candidates, scheduling & conducting interviews, coordinating reference and criminal background checks

  • Proactively coordinate disability claims and the return-to-work processes to promote early and safe return to work where appropriate

  • Investigate and resolve employee relations matters and investigations using set protocols

  • Answer and direct employee inquiries as they relate to policy, recruitment, disability, employee engagement, etc.

  • Participate in Human Resources projects and initiatives including program development and process improvement

  • Support the annual employee engagement survey process along with action planning through to execution

  • Drive awareness for Center of Excellence (COE) and the Shared Services Model to all employees

Successful Candidate will possess the following:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management required

  • 3- 5 years of relevant HR experience required

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion

  • Strong organizational, multitasking and prioritizing skills

  • Profound problem solving, judgement and decision-making skills

  • Strong attention to detail yielding accurate and timely results

  • Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) designation an asset
