Registered Practical Nurse – COVID-19 Assessment Centre (Finch RCC)

Humber River Hospital’s Nursing Resources Team is part of the Staffing Resource Centre within the Hospital. The Registered Nurses within the Nursing Resources Team are trained to cover all Medicine and Surgical Inpatient Units. Members of the Nursing Resource Team have the opportunity to be trained in specialty areas when needed.


Right now we are looking for a  Registered Practical Nurse to work at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre located at our Finch Reactivation Care Centre.


Reporting Relationship: Manager, COVID-19 Assessment Clinic
Hiring Salary Range: $30.172 – $30.638
Location: Humber River Hospital – Finch site
Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends
Union:  NOWU Service


Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for Registered Practical Nurse duties in the COVID-19 Assessment Clinic.  It is the expectation that members of the COVID-19 Assessment Clinic are available for all rotating shifts including weekends.


  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
  • Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification or demonstrated competency.
  • Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience, preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year clinic experience, an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
  • Experience with patient health teaching.
  • Excellent  Health Assessment skills required
  • Demonstrate adherence to the hospital’s code of conduct.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections and nasopharyngeal specimen sampling,  etc.
  • Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
