Position: Registered Nurse

Site: Toronto General Hospital Department

Department: Joint Department of Medical Imaging, Interventional Radiology

Reports To: Manager

Hours: 37.50 Hours/Week – Variable shifts and on call assignments 

Salary range: $33.56 – $48.05 PER HOUR (start rate determined in accordance with the collective agreement requirements)

Scale/Grade: E006

Status: Permanent Full Time

As a member of the UHN and the Joint Division of Medical Imaging (JDMI) Multi-disciplinary Team, the REGISTERED NURSE in Medical Imaging practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession. The principal responsibilities include applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN and JDMI. Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and UHN policies and procedures. 


  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
  • Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent critical care nursing experience, and/or experience working in critical assessment and resuscitation situations
  • Previous Interventional Radiology experience preferred 
  • Completion and Certification in Bedside PICC insertions preferred 
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care certificate required
  • Completion of a recognized Emergency Nursing certificate required
  • Venipuncture and I.V. insertion skills required
  • Meets MRI safety guidelines and is able to work in an MRI environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and decision making, organizational and time management skills
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a variety of patient care teams
  • Demonstrated evidence of on going education in nursing
  • Must be able to work wearing lead apron/vest all day
  • Must be able to respond to on-call notifications (arrive at the hospital) within 1 hour maximum
