We currently have a Regular Full-Time opportunity for a Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Centre at our Bayview Campus.

Summary of Duties

We currently have a regular full-time position for a Pharmacist in the Ambulatory Patient Pharmacy (Outpatient Pharmacy). Key responsibilities of a Pharmacist can be broadly divided into four areas:

  1. Drug Distribution
  • Check accuracy and therapeutics of prescriptions;
  • Intake of prescriptions, including gathering of necessary information for processing prescriptions;
  1. Direct Patient Care
  • Counsel patients on prescription and non-prescription medications;
  • Perform MedsChecks & Medication Reconciliation;
  • Provide Smoking Cessation Counselling;
  • Device training, including injections, inhalers, and spacers;
  • Administration of vaccines included in the expanded scope of practice;
  1. Problem Solving
  • Clarifying, adapting and extension of prescriptions;
  • Answer drug information questions and requests;
  • Inquire with patients and/or family members about insurance and/or resolving billing issues as needed;
  1. Education
  • Participate in the education of students, including volunteers;
  • Plan & participate in pharmacy-run clinic days.

Must be available to work a Saturday shift as per the regular Pharmacist rotation.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (or licensure within 18 months of graduation)
  • Injection trained, including CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Previous outpatient pharmacy experience an asset
  • Able to work well in fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative
  • Demonstrate ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Strong customer service skills
