POSITION VACANCY:
Children’s and Childbirth Float Pool
POSITION:
Part Time Registered Nurse
HOURS OF WORK:
11.25 Hour Shifts;(2D/2N)
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the provision and coordination of care across the Children’s and Childbirth program. The float nurse will be assigned on a shift by shift basis to areas within the C&C program where staffing resources are required due to heightened clinical activity or staff shortage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS
• Must meet the hiring criteria for minimum of ONE of the following areas:
1. Childbirth: Completion of or current enrollment in a perinatal certificate course (college-level) or Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Perinatal Certification. Applicants will be required to obtaining their perinatal certificate or CNA certification after hire OR recent, relevant experience in perinatal nursing. Graduate nurses who have completed their final practicum consolidation in obstetrics may be considered
2. NICU: Recent experience in Neonatal ICU (level II or III). New graduate RNs who have completed their final consolidation in NICU may be considered OR Significant progress toward completion of the Neonatal Nursing Certification (college certificate), or CNA Neonatal Nursing Certification.
3. Paediatrics: One year of recent experience in acute pediatric nursing. Nurses who have recently graduated who have consolidated in Pediatrics for their final placement will be considered.
• Current NRP Provider status. Applicants not holding NRP provider status may be considered however as a condition of hire, certification must be obtained prior to unit orientation.
• Successful completion of an 18hr breastfeeding course preferred.
