Who You Are…

As the successful candidate, you are an experienced and highly competent Chef with a reputation of being an effective leader. You have your Red Seal Certification and a valid Safe Food Handling and Smart Serve Certificate.  You have a minimum of three (3) years of operational experience in a high-volume kitchen and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role in the hospitality, health care and/or food service industry. You also have comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on exceptional quality, production sanitation, food cost controls and presentation.  A Diploma in Food & Beverage Management/Hospitality Management is preferred.

What you will do…

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, the Chef is responsible for directing and managing the kitchen operations to meet established Parkland Brand standards. The Chef plans, monitors, and executes all phases of food preparation, delivery and service for residents residing in all service lines at Parkland. 

Our expectations of you…

  • Manages the Culinary Services Team towards achievement of Quality of the Culinary experience of Parkland
  • Oversees the implementation of all aspects of the Culinary Services Program and assists in development of department policies, procedures and guidelines as a member of the divisional Food Services Team
  • Manages Culinary Services human resources
  • Assists and oversees in the recruitment of employees, orientation and training, monitoring and coaching of staff and personal development of the food services team
  • Promotes a safety culture and adheres to all food safety standards and legislation
  • Assists in the management of administrative functions of the culinary department
  • Oversees the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control; ensures all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properly
