Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking Mental Health Nurses to provide service to our client in a primary health care setting.

Mental Health Nurses (MHN) are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of a care plan, and evaluation of mental health nursing care.

MHN’s provide crisis intervention and counseling and life skills programming to clients in the mental health clinic.

They act as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, and their work includes walk-in and scheduled appointments with individuals or family and group therapy sessions.

An important part of this role is to provide counseling services on an individual/group therapy sessions, using CBT, DVT or motivational interview techniques.Candidates also need to be skilled with bio-psychosocial assessments and conducting medication management from inpatient and outpatient perspective.

No evening or weekend shifts required.Paid on an hourly basicMedical and Dental benefits for positions over 22.5 hoursQualificationsSuccessful candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience within the last 5 years in nursing practice performing a variety of mental health nursing activities such as supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, counseling, and crisis intervention or management in an adult community setting to clients suffering from mental illnesses or psycho-social difficulties.Candidates must also possess:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university with either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)Registered Nurse license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practiceCertificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED Level C.

Annual recertification is required
