Position: Registered Cardiovascular Technologist

Department: Pacemaker Clinic/Cardiac Devices Clinic

Status:  Part-time (must provide availability of up to a .4 FTE)

Hours:  Monday to Friday – Days 0800 – 1600 hours (hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Site:  Oakville

This is what you’ll be doing:

Provide interdisciplinary care to patients and their families in the Pacemaker / Cardiac Devices Clinic, which provides cardiac device care, advanced arrhythmia interpretation and patient education.

• Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology
• Current registration in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
• IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) Certified Cardiac Device Specialist designation a preferred asset
• Current BCLS certification at time of hire
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with pacemakers, ICD’s and CRT’s in Pacemaker/Cardiac Device Clinic setting required
• Experience in advanced arrhythmia interpretation, pacemaker care and advanced cardiac knowledge required
• OR experience is an asset
• Excellent organizational skills and flexibility
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary  team in a busy, clinical environment
• Problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills
• Diplomacy and public relations skills required
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a strong knowledge of policy and practice standards
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record
