How will you make an impact?

You will ensure that packaging equipment and machinery are maintained in good order under Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) guidelines for maximum equipment up-time. The job is integral to achieving Patheonu2019s customer requirements with cost effective, high quality products and services delivered on schedule. Job responsibilities are varied, although they still fall within one function.

This position requires the ability to work weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) shifts (12 hours from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM, bi-weekly rotation).

What you will do?

Essential Functions:

  • Follows standardized engineering procedures to perform the following tasks:
  • Timely Preventive Maintenance (PM), trouble shooting, repair and overhaul tasks on all packaging equipment.
  • Fabrication of auxiliary equipment including stands, platforms, etc. as directed.
  • Participates in process improvement by recommending Preventative Maintenance and Quality improvements.
  • Utilizes lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Oxy-acetylene welding. Welds materials including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, braising and silver solder.
  • Participates in investigating equipment malfunctioning and damages
  • Other duties as assigned

How will you get there?

Education:

  • Must be licensed to practice as Industrial Millwright (433A License)

Experience:

  • 5 years millwright experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or food industry or equivalent

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Competencies:

Proactive and organized approach to completing tasks timely and efficiently. Attention to detail and quality of work. Proficiency with the English language. Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office programs. In this role it is essential to perform alternating or rotating shift work including weekend shifts. Proficiency with the English Language. Demonstrated commitment to our fundamental principles of Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Physical Requirements:

Work requires moderate physical exertion. Regularly lifts medium weight objects by hand. May require recurring bending, crouching, stretching, or reaching. Or may frequently operate equipment, including keyboard and must walk, sit, or stand immobile for prolonged periods. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area, in a total productive maintenance environment (TPM). There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Frequent need to distinguish among or interpret a variety of sensory inputs that require attention to decode and identify.
