Industrial Electrician

  • Brampton, ON
  • $34.85 per hour to start, increase after 6 months
  • Permanent, Full Time
  • Monday to Friday, straight Days or Nights
  • OT after 40 hours, Paid Weekly
  • Certification of Qualification 442A Industrial Electrician Required

Ian Martin Workforce has partnered with a proudly Canadian food processing company that has seen continuous growth. They have recently opened a new facility leading to a new opening on their Maintenance team.  They offer a team-oriented working environment with future opportunities for advancement.

What you will be doing…

  • Provides technical application support during new installations and equipment breakdowns, including problems with documentation, research and replication, escalation, and resolution.
  • Assists in equipment malfunction investigation to increase equipment reliability by identifying root cause, determining corrective actions/preventative measures, and following up on any deviations, customer and consumer complaints.
  • Review and document technical information (i.e. version upgrade requirements, service packs, patches, utilities) provided by the product manufacturer. Keeps up-to-date schematics and related technical documentation.
  • Performs setup and calibration for process equipment and control instrumentation such as: Flow meters, Viscosity meters, Power meters, Conductivity meters, Temperature and Pressure transducers.
  • Performs routine diagnostic checks on equipment, electrical panels, and control systems;
  • Troubleshoots SCADA and PLC Network communication, variable frequency drives and HMI; performing bypass when required
  • Tests new industrial automation equipment, instruments, controls and materials available on the market for use in a manufacturing environment and provide effectiveness reports to Upper Management.
  • Follows all safety regulations, such as Arc Flash protection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manne.

  • Certification of Qualification 442A Journeyman Industrial Electrician
  • Previous experience in Food and/or Beverage is preferred or other relevant industrial experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills that can be applied to new and old equipment
  • Enjoys being in a hands-on position that spends their time on the floor
  • Humble with a great attitude and willingness to work as a team
  • Can have solution-oriented discussions and take input from all sides to find the best course of action
  • Open to learning and improving upon existing skills
  • Reliable with good attendance record, own transportation to and from site
