Senior Architect

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Sr. Architect for our expanding portfolio of Rail/Transit and other civil projects in the Canada region. This is an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Architect to join a dynamic team and work on both conventional and Design-Build large scale transportation projects to be constructed in different Canadian provinces.  We embrace new software and technologies to keep us at the forefront of the transportation market and offer competitive pay, great benefits, including fully paid medical/dental, mentoring, as well as challenging projects for you to work on!

Responsibilities:

  • Serving in a leadership role to coordinate and manage design efforts for public transportation projects across North America.
  • Manage design efforts for Transit Stations, Maintenance Facilities, Urban Design Projects, and other facilities supporting public transportation projects
  • Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports.
  • Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Interfaces with suppliers as required.
  • Reviews supplier drawings and samples, and performs technical bid analyses.
  • Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
  • Provides the seal and signature of a professional architect when required by statute or contract.
  • Provides technical guidance to lower-level Architects and Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
  • Keeps abreast of current technologies via technical subscriptions and attendance at conferences.
  • Prepares staffing estimates and execution plans.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required and typically 8+ years of Related architectural design Experience.
  • Experience working on transportation related projects is strongly preferred
  • Professional Architect registration is required
  • Requires proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required.
  • Experience working with BIM and Revit is Required
  • The ability to make presentations to clients and others is preferred.
