Who we areAccedian provides exceptional end-to-end visibility over network performance for millions of services over major Tier-1 and Tier-2 networks globally, allowing our customers to tune and optimize their network to provide the best possible performance and user experience.What we doAccedian develops best-in-class network monitoring solutions, based on award-winning hardware and software solutions that are deployed in carrier networks and on enterprises premises.

The data we generate is in need of a powerful and scalable platform so that it can be stored, analyzed and presented in ways that are meaningful and intuitive to our customers.

To that end, Accedian has launched a brand new performance analytics and visualization division in Ottawa in 2018.Our new initiative is looking for talented designers and developers to work with a small, high-power team of industry experts to launch the Accedian SkyLIGHT DataHub IQ — Network Performance Analytics and Visualization product line (our friendly acronym, “NPAV,” helps making sure that our team name doesn’t require two business cards to be fully printed).Focused on providing near real-time network performance correlation, analytics and visualization we’re pulling out all the stops to build a top-notch, modern technology stack that will support advanced use cases.The current challenge we face is to accumulate, process and eloquently present data streams of metrics from various sources, ranging in the hundreds of millions of entries per day.

We use analytic techniques to help our customer dig through a waterfall of Key Performance Indicators.

Some call it the data lake, we call it the data ocean.

This is software at scale in every sense and our ability to provide a vision and execute on it will directly impact the success of Accedian as a leading performance monitoring provider.What You Will DoWe want you to be a part of an awesome team as we define the direction of Accedian’s DataHub IQ product line.

We operate in a “You build it, you run it” mode, where everyone is actively participating in maintaining and improving our software.In this role you will architect, design, implement and test core components of Accedian’s nextgeneration network performance analytics platform.

We are a group of passionate designers who have been perfecting our trade for the last little while, and we are always happy to be challenged in our ways of thinking.

We argue a lot, then we have a beer and hash it out together, get to work, and do awesome things.

We are always looking for great individual to join our team (and potentially show us where we went wrong :).But more importantly, we want to provide you with an environment where you can exercise and grow your technical, business and interpersonal skills in a friendly environment that strongly believes that software is people, and that we invest in software by primarily investing in our team.Your initial responsibilities will include (but will be far from limited to) the following topics:Data acquisition, a high-throughput, low-latency real-time data feeds platformAnalytics EngineDatabase and data modelsMultidimensional and scalable time sensitive query design and optimizationParticipate in the design of local clusters and cloud deploymentsIn this role you will report to the Director R& D Network Management, Performance, Analytics and visualization.Technical Skills:We are confident that quality individual can learn just about anything.

We are currently hovering around these technologies and would require the following skills.

The more experience the better!

Strong design skills in realizing scalable software solution is definitely an asset.Language for machine: Go, and any other language.

Apache Spark or similar an asset.Language for Human:Strong written and spoken English.

French an asset.Databases:Scalable Time Series database (Druid, Clickhouse), document databases (CouchDB, elasticsearch), Graph DB (Dgraph and the like)OS and cloud: Elastic and clustered deployments.

GCE, AWS, Azure experience is an asset (but not a requirement), VMWare, KVM, and such.
