Team Manager, RBC Direct Investing

This is a Contract position in Mississauga, ON posted January 28, 2021.

What is the opportunity?

This is a full time and shift oriented role with an opportunity to work from home. 

 

What will you do?

  • Manage and lead a high-performing team of Investment Services Representatives and/or Customer Service Representatives, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional client experience.
  • Anticipate and deliver innovative business-aligned solutions that demonstrate a deep understanding of RBC DI clients’ and business partners’ short- and long-term needs.
  • Partner and leverage the expertise of Human Resources, Workforce Management, Wealth Management Operations, Direct Investing Head Office and RBC Branch and field sales partners to optimize opportunities.
  • Promote employee engagement within the community and foster an environment where great work is encouraged and celebrated.
  • Proactively uncover opportunities to match customer needs through effective communication and probing skills to help guide clients to the available products and services offered by Direct Investing and actively promotes the capability and functionality of RBC Direct Investing online site and proactively identifies self-service opportunities for clients.
  • Provide knowledgeable, accurate, responsive and professional trading services to RBC Direct Investing Inc. customers, through the prompt and courteous completion of trade instructions via telephone or electronic trade instructions within regulatory requirements and RBC Direct Investing guidelines.
  • Understands and applies industry rules and regulations (e.g. IIROC, Provincial, applicable Federal etc.) as well as RBC Enterprise and RBC Direct Investing Inc. policies and procedures to all activities performed.
  • Accurately executes client instructions within defined authorities and ensures the client has the means to meet trade settlement obligations.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, effectively deliver results within specified parameters/goals, and optimize employee engagement
  • Strong problem resolution and computer navigation skills, as well as strong initiative and the ability to multi task
  • Ability to work independently as a Remote Office Employee (ROE), working in your home office with proven time management, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to meet with the technological and confidentiality requirements of the role (i.e., private and quiet space, Internet connectivity, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience working for an IIROC Dealer Member. Completion and maintenance of standing (per regulatory requirements) for the following required courses or must be completed as per the timelines below:
    • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) 1 must be completed within 7 weeks of the start date.
    • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) 2 must be completed within 15 weeks of the start date.
  • OR
    • Completion and maintenance of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification level 1 or any higher levels of the CFA program.
    • AND
      • Conduct Practices Handbook (CPH) must be completed within 22 weeks of the start date.
      • Derivative Fundamentals and Options Licensing Course (DFOL) must be completed within 44 weeks of the start date. 
      • IIROC Branch Managers Course and Options Supervisors Course ( if not, both must be completed within 12 months )
      • Be flexible to work a variety of shifts within our business hours 7AM to 8PM, Mondays to Saturdays.

        Nice-to-have

        • Fluency in additional language skills (French/Mandarin/Cantonese) an asset
        • Branch Managers Course (however must be completed within 6 months) and Options Supervisory Course
        • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a client service role, driven to help meet clients’ needs
        • University degree in Finance/Economics preferred
