Millwright – Brampton (Pharmaceuticals Facility)


This is a Contract position in Brampton, ON posted August 15, 2020.

Dear Industrial Professionals,

Are you currently seeking mechanic/technician/millwright positions in the Brampton/Mississauga area? Are you licensed/certified in a relevant trade? If so, we are giving you the opportunity to apply for a Millwright/Industral Mechanic role in a large pharmaceutical company in southeast Brampton. This is a permanent position with a competitive, negotiable salary.

In short, this job involves maintaining the critical machinery that packages and labels the pharmaceuticals. You would be required to work rotational shifts (see below), and the salary is dependent on your experiences (though in most cases, the range is $60k-$70k+). Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, rotating between the following…
Days: 7AM-3:30PM
Afternoons: 3:15PM-11:15PM
Nights: 11PM-7AM

Job Responsibilities:
– Safely assemble, set up, operate, dismantle, and replace the machinery parts
– Assess, analyze and troubleshoot equipment
– Be aware of and perform preventative maintenance and calibration
– Conduct proper testing of the packages produced on the assigned
– Understand the qualities and properties of the packaging materials used on
the assigned equipment (e.g. heat sealing, temperature, dwell
time and pressure of materials)
– Provide feedback to management regarding any issues and/or ideas for
improving effectiveness, quality, safety, and equipment performance
– Ensure proper clean-up activities are complete
– Undertake training to enhance skills and knowledge
– Comply with cGMP and internal procedures and standards
– Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation
– Perform any other related duties, and follow any other instructions as may be
directed by the Supervisor

– Typical salary range of $60,000-$70,000, though it depends on experience and licenses (i.e., industrial millwright/industry equivalent license).
– Direct hire/permanent role

– Previous experience as a millwright/industrial mechanic/maintenance technician
– 2+ years of experience in a production plant environment
– Strong knowledge of carton/blister/packaging/labeling machinery & processes
– Understanding of solid dose and semi-solid filling into blisters, pouches and bottles
– Proficient with basic computer/mobile applications such as MS Office, Google Suite, etc
– Knowledge of GMPs
– Comfortable to work independently and in a team environment
– Excellent eye-hand coordination + finger/manual dexterity
– Able to perform physical activities such as lifting, bending and reaching
– Must be able to provide 2 supervisory references
– A criminal background check is required (administered & paid for by Randstad)
