General Labour- Metal Assembly – Permanent Direct Hire!


This is a Contract position in Burlington, ON posted September 24, 2020.

Do you have a passion for metal manufacturing? Do you have experience using cutting machines and assembling metal products? We may have your next career here in Burlington!

We are hiring machine operators to work in a manufacturing plant where you will use your previous knowledge of manufacturing to practise your safety and learn new skills.

You will be responsible for:
• Operating a shear and slitting machine
• Operating powered & non-powered hand tools
• Stacking & packaging products into a repeating specific pattern
• Documenting work & following instructions
• Keep assigned machines and areas clean and safe
• Provide suggestions to improve the process

• Pay rates:
Starting rate: $17.54/hour
After 3 months: $19.54/hour
After 1 year: $24.32/hour
• Afternoon shift $0.35 per hour worked
Night Shift (12 hour) $0.50 cents per hour worked
• Weekend premium $0.55 cents per hour worked
• Rotating 12 hour continentals from 6am – 6pm
• Get your entire year’s schedule on day one so you can plan your vacation time with family or friends
• Full benefits after probation period
• 2 weeks vacation, RRSPs, Profit Sharing after 1 year

• Industrial hands-on experience in a similar position will be an asset
• Experience with powered and non-powered hand tools
• Good overall mechanical abilities
• Able to use and read industrial measuring tools
• Team player, self-disciplined, and ability to work with minimum supervision after training
• Quality conscious individuals are a much
• Good safety records with a safety-conscious attitude
• Good communication both written and verbal
• Able to push and pull 30lbs
• Able to work in hot environments in the summer
• Must have your own vehicle as this is not on a bus route
• Must have a minimum of grade 12 education completed
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
