Job Description

Maintenance Electrician

Cascades is the largest recycled paper collector in Canada and a leader in the production and conversion of corrugated products, tissue paper and specialty products in North America.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to work in our Belleville corrugated box converting plan as a Maintenance Electrician.

Candidates will be required to work on a rotating shift schedule and be physically capable of performing routine and physically demanding work in a warm and humid environment. Successful candidates will be paid $33.49/hr with annual increases.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • Must possess valid and up to date Trade Certification for Industrial Electricians – 309A license
  • Must be mechanically and mathematically inclined
  • Safety oriented and able to follow proper safety procedures
  • Excellent communication, problem solving skills and ability to provide solutions to complex issues through teamwork and cooperation.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a corrugated packaging facility will be considered an asset

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidates will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • PLC experience an asset in Allen Bradley and/or Siemens
