Civil Coordinator


This is a Contract position in Gogama, ON posted September 16, 2020.

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Coordinator to join our Mining & Minerals team at our project site in northern Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Construction, and working alongside other team members locally, you will have the opportunity to provide support on a major project. Key Responsibilities

  • Recent management of industrial mining civil contractors
  • Establishing and monitoring contract budgets and schedules, including hourly rate and firm price contracts;
  • Supervising and coordinating the work of multiple contractors on site with respect to safety, quality of work, and adherence to applicable codes, standards, design documents and site standards;
  • Ensuring that Amec Foster Wheeler and client safety, health, and environment (HSE) programs are implemented and adhered to at all times;
  • Participating in the turnover process by assembling completion checklists and other construction records. 

Skills / Qualifications

  • 8-15 years experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Previous experience in a civil/structural engineering environment is an asset
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Current ability to work lawfully in Canada is required
