Academic Assistant, Graduate Studies – Reception


This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted February 25, 2021.

Salary (Grade: 07) Hiring salary range $51309
– $64,811 Position Purpose Greet students and provide them with accurate and appropriate information, in both official languages.

Provide students with guidance and advice on graduate programs offered by the Faculty, the admission process, possible internal and external funding as well as the various regulations, by phone, in person or by email within specified timeframes.

Essential Qualifications Knowledge of administrative or operational principles, usually acquired through postsecondary training and several years’ experience in a similar role.

Knowledge of academic programs and policies, university services and procedures related to admission, registration, program requirements, etc.

Knowledge of and experience in electronic file management Experience analyzing academic records Experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations and procedures Customer service experience, specifically in the context of academic advising Experience in bilingual administrative writing Experience using computer systems (SIS/uoCampus, Imaging, CRM, or similar systems) and platforms and applications such as Windows, word processing software, databases, email and the Internet Strong skills in interpersonal communication, teamwork and problem solving Organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines Initiative, autonomy and excellent judgement Bilingualism
