Tax Manager, US Corporate Tax

The opportunity

As a Tax Services Manager, you will be a part of US Consulting Practice. We help our clients identify and solve complex US and international tax issues and assist them in successfully aligning all of the different areas of taxation into a benefit-driven strategy. Your key responsibilities

  • Review and supervision of preparation of US partnership returns with complex partner allocations and other tax concepts specific to real estate clients.
  • Possess general understanding of IRS Subchapter K and tax matters related to tiered partnership structures.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of Federal and State tax compliance, including state allocation and apportionment issues that impact clients in real estate and private equity space.
  • Possess strong Go system skills in the area of partnerships.
  • Able to identify and research tax matters that impact areas of real estate transactions and compliance of partnership tax returns.
  • Manage client engagements and assure timely filing of all related tax returns
  • Train other tax professionals on the engagement team in complex tax technical topics
  • Respond to federal and state tax notices that impact clients and represent clients in any potential tax audit.
  • Stay current on technical and industry developments and standards while evaluating potential impact on clients’ businesses.
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships during the engagement and throughout the year
  • Identify additional tax planning opportunities that may benefit clients.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field and a minimum of 5-6 years of experience in US Tax
  • An accounting designation or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization
  • Completion of US CPA
  • Strong technical background developed through preparation and review of US corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Excellent supervisory, analytical, and leadership ability
  • A commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Process oriented with excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Go system, various research tools (Checkpoint and CCH)
