The full-time Controller position is situated in the Kitchener, Ontario area.Your responsibilities in this role Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysisJob Requirements: Background working with Cash Flow Analysis Strong familiarity with analysis Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Principles Practical knowledge of OPEX Analyze Business Requirements experience General familiarity with financial reporting Knowledge of Expense Variance Analysis Analyze Financial Statements experience Budget forecasting experience highly preferred Adeptness in Navision Business Plan experience desired Earlier work involving cash flow management Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred Previous experience in public accounting is highly valuedRobert Half Finance & Accounting, the world’sleader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
