Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

Cards has a significant number of operational partners, both internal and external to deliver credit card services to our clients.  For example, card production and delivery, statement production and delivery, production and mailing of welcome kits and letters, extending support to Deposits and Simplii Financial for certain operational functions. The Director, Vendor and Operational Management will be the focal point for these operational partners including management of daily operational processes, change management, service recovery and supply chain management to support Cards and Enterprise strategic business objectives. 

How You’ll Succeed

  • People Management – Develop work plans, establish objectives, deadlines and processes for your team, including professional development
  • Continuous Improvement – Ensure that related issues, organizational risks and opportunities are identified and raised for consideration in the formulation and revision of CIBC policy and strategy
  • Relationship Management – Single point of contact for vendors for escalations related to day-to-day operational management, service level issues, pricing discussions, new opportunities and technologies, project deliverables etc.
  • Oversee inventory management function for all materials (cards, collateral, paper, envelopes, etc) to ensure appropriate stock is on hand for hundreds of skus while minimizing waste as changes are introduced
  • Initiate and manage projects that impact internal and external vendors ensuring appropriate communications and plans are in place, including development and execution of test plans at operational vendors
  • Ability to manage increasing change and to energize and motivate during a period of significant transitions.
