Who You Are…

As the successful candidate, you will have gained a solid background in either the Retirement Living, Long Term Care and/or Hospitality industries. You hold a post secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Commerce or Finance. You have a minimum of two (2) years experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Having experience with scheduling and payroll would be an asset.  You have successfully lead teams and managed a portfolio having a high focus on exceptional client service delivery. You are committed to ensuring the highest standards of care are being met in a safe and healthy environment. Computer skills are a must have and experience with YARDI would be considered an asset. Additionally, you have current CPR & Emergency First Aid certification and a valid drivers license. Completion of a course in Alzheimer’s Disease or another Dementia Care Course considered an asset.  

 What you will do…

Reporting to the General Manager, the Business Manager is responsible for the oversight of all financial responsibilities related to the operational community including all revenue, expense, and labour transactions. The position will be responsible for the management of the financial Resident Life Cycle. The position is additionally responsible for the People Leadership of the Front of House and Workforce Department.

 Our expectations of you…

  • Provide leadership and oversight to all operational elements of the Front of House & Workforce team to ensure compliance to brand standards, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Responsible for all financial components of the Resident Life Cycle
  • Ensure the accuracy of resident information/documentation, resident movement, month-end billing processes, managing inquiries of ancillary services and resident billing
  • Oversee revenue, expenses and labour budgets which includes the financial reporting and managing work schedules
  • Consistently maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Adhere to all financial and scheduling processes using the applicable systems
  • Foster and promote a culture of safety and well being for residents and staff
