The Team
Scotiabank’s Global Identity and Access Management (GIAM) group is responsible for development, management and governance of Logical Access control to the Bank’s information systems. The Business Analysis, Reporting and Analytics team is a team within the Identity and Access Management group that focuses on supporting internal GIAM applications, teams and business partners from a BA perspective. 

 

The role
The Business Analysis Specialist (BAS) contributes to the overall success of GIAM by ensuring specific analytics and reporting goals, plans, and overall initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The BAS ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • You excel in preparing Business Requirement documents, analyzing data and accessing processes and procedures to deliver recommendations.
  • You are passionate in new technologies and enjoy the challenges of working with Identity Access teams in implementing security controls to protect them.
  • Working on different types of projects (from large complex to simple) are a part of your DNA.
  • You love to collaborate with various business lines, IT support functions and Information Security and Control (IS&C) functions.
  • You are a strong supporter of a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards to facilitate regular monitoring by GIAM management team
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English & Spanish
  • You possess atleast 5 years of hands-on working experience in performing business requirement documents, process workflows, use cases, data analytics and preparing communications.
  • You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft suite of applications (ie: Visio, PowerPoint, Excel). 
  • Working experience with PowerBI and/or Powershell would be an asset(s). 
  • Working experience with IAM Security and/or SailPoint applications would be an asset(s).
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or in a related field.
